The size of the helt is indicated in centimetre of head circumference. Measure your head circumference with a measuring tape. Lay the measuring tape around 1 cm over the eyebrows and the ears. Do not lay it to tightly. It's more easy if somebody helps you. Your measured value should be between or below the two values of your chosen dimensional information. Examples: - Measured value = 59,9 cm. We recommend helt size L(60-61) - Measures value = 58,5 cm. We recommend helt size M(58-59) - If you have to cover much hair or you need more space under your helt you may chose size L(60-61) - Measured value 55,0 cm. It is possible to chose the smallest size S(56-57).
If you have a head circumference smaller then 55 cm we advise against a helt.
You make no friends with your flat mates if you hit the whole helt into the washer. We recommend to take off the beanie from the hard shell. Hand wash the beanie separately with neutral soap. This keeps the washer ok and your helt will gloom in new splendor.
You shouldn't like your helt any more? This won't happen :-)! If you need an outer design change anyway, then simply look for a new beanie design from our offer, buy it and simply exchange
This is not possible. The helt uses special made beanies which have already integrated the cushioning foam and the fleece lining. Without these inside layers the hard shell can find no lateral support on your head
The beanie is fixed at four points to the hard shell by hook tape. In the forehead area the beanie is fixed with a 14 cm long strap of hook tape. Three point of hook tape are in the back area. Turn the inside upholstery of the beanie to the outside. First separate the beanie from the hook tape in the forehead area. The rest is quite simple. Take the beanie off the hard shell. Be also careful with the three hook tape points in the back area. The hook tape grips directly into the beanie. Be extra careful with roughly knitted beanies.
The following method has proved to be rather simple. Sit down on a chair and jam the hard shell between your knees so that you look on the front hook strap and the opening of the hard shell points away from your body. Turn the inside upholstery of the beanie to the outside and hold the forehead area with both hands. Now it's important to place the beanie correctly to the edge of the hard shell. Now you can pull the beanie over the hard shell and fix it to the three hook tape points in the back. After that you can still correct the beanie position, e.g. pulling the beanie further over the ears.
The helt is a beanie with protective function on the basis of a covered hard shell. It protects the head better than a normal cap or beanie but less than a helmet. Some of the components, e.g. chin strap, are comparable these of classic safety helmets.
No! The helt cannot offer the same protection as a standardized helmet. So the helt can not replace a helmet.
The helt is not classic safety helmet. The helt shall protect the head against abrasion and minor impacts which do not affect the vital areas of the head. Due to the compact dimensions damping qualities cannot be adhered to as in the case of safety helmets.
Hold your helt with one hand in the neck area. With the other hand you grab the inner fleece-foam layer in the front area...
... Flip the fleece-foam layer to the outside and pull the beanie off the hard shell. You have to be careful - the beanie is fixed to hook tape in the front and back area...
... done!
You can wash the beanie and as it dries you can put another one on the hard shell.
